I am an author, blogger, columnist, and writer.  My work covers a range of topics including identity, cultural preservation, and intergenerational trauma. By integrating interviews and diverse perspectives, I aim to foster a deeper understanding of these nuanced issues.

I was born and raised in Canada in 1975 to Indo (Indische Nederlander) parents, part of a Dutch Indonesian ethnic group formed through ethnogenesis, with Dutch legal status during the era of the Dutch East IndiesMy parents were born and raised there and survived the Bersiap period—a time marked by genocide (as defined by the UN and recognized by some historians), upheaval, and persecution—and later repatriated to the Netherlands, as post-independence policies in Indonesia left little place for Indos in the new nation. They eventually immigrated to Canada.
